I'm here in the dorm at Pacifica Grad. Inst. tonight, for a weekend seminar on Jungian Dream Tending. I don't start classes until September, so this is a nice warm up. Comic Con San Diego: I will be signing free copies of Casket of Souls at 10 am on Friday, July 13. At 3:30 I'm an a Epic Fantasy and War panel with some Major Names, with another signing after that. Come say hi!

The day after I got home from the cruise my step-dad called with news that my mom had slipped in a stream while out on a hike and broken several ribs. She was in pretty sad shape and he was having trouble keeping up with things, so I got on a plane Tueday and flew back to help out, loaded with work to do while I'm here. We rounded off a romantic trip to LA (Eddie Izzard was amazing at the Hollywood Bowl) with a visit to one of my favorite haunts, The American Tea Room in Beverly Hills for a visit with the owners, tea, cakes, and of course, shopping. Came away with some interesting new teas, some old favorites, and a new 18 oz pot.

Today Doug and I are going into LA to see Eddie Izzard at the Bowl, then going to Little Tokyo tomorrow. Any suggestions for must see/do things, hidden treasures, etc.?

Tomorrow I head to Northampton, MA, for ConBust at Smith College. It's become an (almost) yearly trip and I really enjoy the friendly intimacy of that convention. Sadly, Patty Briggs isn't attending this year. I always have fun with her ( Read more... )
